…we - inhabitants of glorious capital of the mühlviertel named by mitterkirchen had the great pleasure to house an even weirder race called the flemish… during four days around the change of the year some extraordinary stuff happened in this sleepy town by the river danube… 26 and more guests from the far north occupied the kraglhof and brought it a bit closer to what it used to be before - a pig farm… a coffee and some rats in vienna as well as a pair of sausages at 2000m in hinterstoder marked two short escapes from the temporary village life… including a “meet the locals” in an instant indoor footbal showdown… accompanied by lamas and other handicaped animals we enjoyed freshly distilled schnaps and mouth melting pig legs…. for an extensive visual report dare to take a look through stevens well developed right eye…

DISTURBED CITY is a project done in collaboration with mattia casalegno during the cimatics masterclass year in brussels - the exhibition at T.A.G. gallery will show a feature video with a soundtrack by element012 (AT) a rail panorama and during the days of open doors (opening, cimatics festival) and interactive city map that can be walked and explored…

at the same time large scale prints will be shown at brussels congress station

we are very happy that we could find this two places to show our work that are situated directly along the north south connection - the project area - thanks to all who made this possible…

currently travelling along americas west coast - north of los angeles - following the trail of jack kerouac… coming up: a few days in the wood before heading for some desert and the final destination “salton sea” - searching for plagues, pleasures and other witness of the past…

a short bike trip brought us in these hottest days of the year to the south of belgium. just getting a glimpse of the hidden beauty of cities like charleroi and tournai we headed for the more obvious one in the ardennen and found a very nice spot for setting up our tents next to a river and of course not far from a scouts camp… not to be surrounded by too much natural randomness we instantly felt the need to shape some land and selected the river as ideal target… robert smithson in mind the choice fell on a triangle accelerating the flow of water on the sides and creating a jacuzzi-like bathing zone within… ¡viva la naturaleza!

THE STREET AS CATWALK
The proposal for a room architecture and brand representation at the “bright-tradeshow” in Frankfurt won the annual award for best booth among more than 150 competitors such as Reebok, Adidas, Nike SB,…. Supremebeing is a british clothing brand with affirmation to streetwear which is translated in a spatial concept. A former police department hosts the annual fair and offers a series of rooms with different qualities to international clothing distributors.

The proposal places another room within the existing one and extends it throughout the dooropening in the hallway. A projection of a street view within a city (Brussels) shows the actual collection of clothes in a animated collage of models. The side walls of the inserted room are covered with mirrors which generate a endless (repeating) city panorama and
place the spectator within the scene. A concrete floor is slightly elevated from the orginal one and extends the image space into the room. The catwalk on which the models present the new collection is the street - the audiance space is the extention of the street.

When entering the room one has to consciously step up this elevated concrete floor and place himself on the same “level” as the stylized models - representing the brand. When leaving the room through the door-opening another mirrored wall piece (on the hallway) shows oneselve within this projection space - within the city.
